New Tanzania Wildlife Authority Inaugurated

The German Embassy Dar es Salaam:

"On 16 October 2015 President Kikwete inaugurated the new authority for wildlife conservation, the Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA). TAWA is intended to become one of the leading institutions in conservation and management of wildlife. Germany is supporting wildlife protection in Tanzania and will “continue to be a strong partner of TAWA in training and shared expertise”, as Mr Egon Kochanke, the German Ambassador, emphasized".

GIZ, being a key partner in this process since 2013 will reinforce its efforts to support the new organization with technical expertise and know how alongside the organisation’s development strategy.
