The GIZ - Natural Resource Management (NRM) Project is responding to a request by the Ngorongoro District Council (NDC) for support to implement a Geographic Information System (GIS) at the council office in Loliondo. The GIS is expected to assist different district council departments in land use planning and natural resource management to help resolving long-standing land use conflicts in the district.

After a kick off workshop for the GIS implementation process in November 2015 the respective district staff now participates in various training sessions facilitated by ESRI Kenia and Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI) on the use of GIS for natural resource management.
